Build the identity resolution ruleset

Updated Nov 8, 2026 Based on Salesforce Data Cloud documentation, retrieved 2026-11-08

Identity resolution matches signals from anonymous and known visitors and merges them into one unified individual. Map your data to standard DMOs first, then build a ruleset with reliable match rules before you create the profile data graph.

  1. 1 Anonymous visitor Web/mobile events with no known identifier yet
  2. 2 Matched signals Match rules link records that belong to the same person
  3. 3 Reconciled profile Reconciliation rules pick the surviving value per field
  4. 4 Unified individual One profile record Personalization reads at decision time

Create the ruleset

  1. From Data 360, open Identity Resolution for your data space.
  2. Create a ruleset and add match rules (for example, email or a stable id).
  3. Add reconciliation rules to choose surviving values on a merge.
  4. Run the ruleset and review the resulting unified individuals.
