Verify and activate the GA4 data stream
Once your GA4 fields are mapped (see Map the schema), activate the data stream so mapped records keep flowing into Data 360, then confirm GA4 data is actually arriving before handing the connector off to your team.
Activate the data stream
- Confirm the GA4 schema mapping is saved and targets the correct DMOs.
- In Data Cloud, open Data Streams and create a new stream using the GA4 connection you set up.
- Select the mapped data lake object (DLO) to stream.
- Set how often the stream refreshes with new data.
- Activate the stream.
- Confirm records are arriving on the mapped data model objects (DMOs).
Verify data is arriving
- Open a sample of records on the mapped engagement DMO and confirm recent GA4 events appear with the expected
event_nameand timestamp. - Compare the record count against your GA4 property’s expected daily event volume.
- If counts look low, check whether the BigQuery export has fully landed for that day before troubleshooting further.
Common issues
- No records at all — recheck the connection on Connect the data source; a connection can save without actually authenticating.
- Counts lower than expected — late-arriving events can land in GA4’s BigQuery tables up to two days after the fact; re-check the count after that window before escalating.
- Custom parameters missing — confirm the specific
event_paramsoruser_propertieskey was mapped on Map the schema; unmapped keys are silently dropped, not flagged as errors.
