Complete the required Ingestion API setup

Updated Nov 7, 2026 Based on Salesforce developer docs retrieved 2026-11-07

Before you can send data or define a schema, create the Ingestion API connector — the Data Cloud component your server calls write to. Name it, save it, then line up the connected app that will generate your credentials.

Create the connector

  1. From Data Cloud Setup, open Connectors and choose Ingestion API.
  2. Give the connector a clear, descriptive name your team will recognize later.
  3. Save the connector so it’s ready to receive data.

What comes next

  1. Set up a connected app and OAuth credentials for your backend to authenticate with.
  2. Define the Ingestion API schema that describes the objects you’ll send.
