Configure the Sitemap for page types and content zones

Updated Nov 8, 2026 Based on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization Sitemap documentation, retrieved 2026-11-08

The Sitemap tells Salesforce Personalization how to read your site — which page types exist, where personalizable content zones sit, what attributes describe each page, and which user events to track. Configure it before building templates or campaigns, since those depend on the page types and zones it defines.

Configure the Sitemap

  1. List every page type on your site (for example, home, category, product, cart) under Page Types.
  2. Mark the content zones — areas of each page type that Personalization can target with personalized content — you want it to monitor.
  3. Define the attributes (user, catalog, or content details) each page type exposes, including a sensitivity classification for anything personal.
  4. Specify the events — user actions like a page view or add-to-cart — you want tracked for each page type.
  5. Publish the Sitemap and confirm the connector’s events match what you configured.
